The fall senior session schedule has been awesome and I couldn't be more excited! In one week we had four senior sessions (and two family sessions). Jadyn started us off with her senior session at the Hershey Gardens which holds special memories. This is one to be remembered!
During the consultation call, she shared that she wanted to capture her senior pictures in the Hershey Gardens and the Butterfly House. The gardens hold special memories, as a child she played in the children's garden and she now works at the gardens with her brother. We discussed her favorite areas of the garden and her hopes for the session.
Top of her wish list, she was hoping that she would have the opportunity to hold a butterfly for pictures. Not only did she get to hold one butterfly but three gorgeous butterflies perched on her hand! They even stayed long enough to get a picture with Jadyn and her mom! What a special memory.
We then explored the rows of roses, the annual garden, her favorite tree as a child, the Japanese garden, and the children's garden. There was something magical about returning to a place that was part of Jadyn's early years. It allowed the opportunity to reminisce about the memories that helped make her who she is today. It was special to capture senior photos to showcase who she is today in a place that is part of her story. You can see some of the fun BTS on Instagram!
Beth and Jadyn,
Thank you for the opportunity to capture these memories for you and most of all for trusting me with these special memories. It was more than senior photos, it was a gift to hear the childhood memories and stories!
Wishing you a wonderful senior year!
XO,
Wendy
Sharing a few of my favorites from the session
and some tips to plan your senior session at a place filled with special memories.
ENJOY!
One of the best ways to celebrate this moment in time is through a senior session that reflects your unique journey. There is something special about choosing a location that holds personal significance- especially a place filled with childhood memories.
Why does it work so well for your senior photos?
1. There is a personal connection. It is a familiar place and more than just a photoshoot. It becomes a journey through memories. You may feel more at ease and relaxed, which allows your personality to shine through in every photo.
2. When returning to a place you loved as a child there is a natural connection and natural emotions emerge- joy, nostalgia, pride. When these genuine feelings naturally emerge they add warmth and authenticity to your photos.
3. The location holds a unique story that is your story. Maybe the big tree that you played and hid in. Including these elements in your senior session brings layers of depth and storytelling to your images.
4. A location tied to your childhood becomes the timeless backdrop for your photos that becomes even more meaningful as the years go by. When you look back at your photos, you won't just see beautiful portraits- you'll remember the stories, adventures, laughter, and memories linked to each shot.
Embracing the memories, celebrating the present, and looking forward to the future! It is a senior session that will become a chapter in your life that you'll treasure for years to come.
