Emma is a Palmyra senior and we are very excited for her as she is embarking on the many memories that come with her senior year.
When planning for her session, it was important to her to have her beloved black labrador, Stella, as part of her pictures. Stella is 15 years old and has been alongside Emma for all the important milestones throughout her school years. Including Stella in her senior pictures is a way to celebrate their special bond and relationship.
Emma is also training a service dog, named Tiramisu. She is the cutest puppy and full of energy. It was remarkable to watch Emma with Tiramisu as she provides the basic training and foundation that will allow Tiramisu to one day work as a service dog. I love that this is something she wanted to do her senior year and will have a positive impact on someone else's life in the future.
We started Emma's senior session in the beautiful zinnia flower fields at Milton Hershey School with Stella and Tiramisu. After photographing the dogs, we headed to Royal Oaks Flower Farm for stunning pictures of Emma in the rows and rows of flowers! You can see the BTS on Instagram!
Drew, Louise, and Emma,
Thank you for a wonderful morning at both beautiful locations! It was great to have Stella and Tiramisu along for photos! Wishing you a beautiful senior year that is filled with sweet memories!
XO,
Wendy
Sharing a few of my favorite images from both locations and a few tips about including your pet in your senior shoot.
Tips for including your pet in your senior shoot!
- Plan Ahead- think about the time of day and the location. Make sure the location is pet-friendly. Think about your pet's personality. You want to ensure that they feel comfortable, too. Do they get nervous or excited in new environments? Bring along some treats and toys to help keep them relaxed.
- Embrace Imperfection- Pets are unpredictable, which is part of the fun and charm of having them along for pictures. Don't worry if they don't sit perfectly for every shot or if the two dogs decide to walk in different directions. These are the memorable photos and the moments that are often the most heartfelt.
- Think about your outfits- You can coordinate your outfit with your dog's appearance or even match accessories. For example, You could match your outfit color to your dog's collar. Think about fun props, too!
- Bring support- A friend or family member at the photo session is helpful to assist with your pet. They can help keep them calm between shots and get their attention when it's time to pose.
- Short and sweet- Even though your session might have a longer time planned, keep in mind that pets tend to have a shorter attention span. Plan to include them in a few key moments, then let them relax while you continue with your session. You can even have someone bring your pet to the beginning or at the end of your session, then they don't need to be present the entire time.
Your senior photo session is a time to celebrate this major milestone in your life, and your pet has likely been a part of that journey. Including them in your session is a meaningful way to honor their role in your life. Whether your pet is playful or laid-back, their presence will add an extra layer of fun, love, and authenticity to your photos. So, when planning your senior session, don’t hesitate—bring your best friend along for the ride! We love it when pets are part of your session!
A few favorites in the zinnia field before heading to the flower farm.
Even though the dogs didn't join us at the flower farm, this cute kitten loved photo-bombing the pictures! Emma's outfit choices were perfect for the flower farm!
