Cap-n-Gown photography sessions tell a story!
I love learning the story of the graduates that I am photographing. When we walk around campus or return to their elementary school they share how they would swing on the swings in kindergarten or the stories of the path to the business school.
Cap-n-gown sessions are capturing a moment in time and also an opportunity to reflect on the journey taken to get to this moment. It really is one of my favorite sessions to photograph.
These poses are not only for college or HS seniors, they are fun for preschool, kindergarten, and 8th-grade graduation, too!
Did you miss Part One? No worries, you can read part one here!
We have a reel on Meadow View Photography's Instagram, too!
Throwing their cap in the air!
The goal is to throw it straight up and look up at the cap. When they follow the cap with their eyes, it usually will go straight up. Hopefully, it's not a windy day!
Throw the cap to you (the photographer)
I stand closer for this photo and have them pretend it's a Frisbee that they are throwing at me.
Flamingo
Have fun and bend one leg back!
Focus on the tassel
Have them hold the tassel straight our and focus the camera on the tassel. This will blur senior in the photo.
Recreate a picture from a childhood graduation
(Why it's important to take those preschool and kindergarten photos!)
The days may seem long but the years are definitely short!
Location Idea:
Use a location that has significant meaning to the graduate. For example a landmark / historic area.
Location Idea: Return to their elementary school for fun photos
