This Palmyra High School senior session is one of our favorites!
We incorporated Nick's love for music and band for a fun senior session!
Nick's mom, Amanda, contacted Meadow View Photography to inquire about senior photos. During our first call, she shared his love for music and band and wanted to incorporate that into the session! Yay! From the first call, I knew this was going to be a fun session after learning about the instruments Nick played and his musical goals for the future. He is planning to attend college for music and one day be a music teacher.
Nick brought three of the instruments and planned his outfits around each instrument. He also planned for some casual pictures that didn't include music. He played some theme songs, demonstrated the band's dance moves, and shared the care it takes to put an instrument together, and apart. So much fun! You can watch the BTS reel on Instagram!
Amanda and Nick,
Honestly, Nick set the bar high for
senior sessions! This was so much fun and
love that we captured his story in the pictures.
Wishing everyone a wonderful senior year!
XO,
Wendy
Sharing a few favorites from the session and some tips if you are thinking of including music in your senior session! Enjoy!
Band is a major part of a student's high-school identity and represents dedication/achievement.
It is more than an extracurricular activity; for many, it's a lifestyle. There were many years of lessons and practices that got Nick to this point. Including his instrument and band uniform in his senior photos is a great way to reflect this part of his high school journey.
Years down the road, when he looks back at these photos, he'll be reminded of the hours of dedication, camaraderie, and the passion that comes with being a musician.
Your instrument tells your story.
Your instrument isn't just a tool; it is part of your story. It holds memories of performances, rehearsals, and maybe even a few mishaps along the way. It was so much fun to hear these stories shared throughout the session. By including the instruments in Nick's photos it added a personal, meaningful touch. They become more than a generic portrait - his instruments help to tell his story in a way that words cannot.
Honor the friendships and memories.
If you have ever been part of a band, you know that it's more than just music; it's friendships, the bus rides, competitions, and the inside jokes that only fellow band members understand. Your senior pictures allow the opportunity to honor not only your journey but also the bonds you've built with your bandmates.
It's a creative expression of your personality.
Senior pictures are your time to showcase your unique personality! When you incorporate your band experience in your photos, you get a chance to show off not just your musical side but also your creativity. This is a fun time to add some fun and arty shots.
Senior pictures are about celebrating who you are and what you've accomplished. Incorporating Nick's band experience into his senior photos, was more than capturing his love for music, it is freezing a moment in time that represents years of hard work, dedication, and unforgettable memories.
So, when you are brainstorming ideas for your senior photo session, don't forget to include the sax, the drumsticks, or the band uniform. After all, being in the band isn't just something you did in high school
- it's a part of who you are!
